This year, World of Warcraft is celebrating its tenth birthday. Colleague blogger Alternative Chat over at Alternative Blog is having a big collab blog/podcast where all people who participate can answer ten questions. More information can be found here. This is my second part of a three-part series.
The first part of my answers to #10Years10Questions can be found here.
5. What is your favourite aspect of the game and has this always been the case?
At this moment, I like flexible raiding the best. The fact that you can bring whatever amount of people that you like and that you can join and leave how you please is absolutely amazing. The personal loot in flexible raiding is great for pick-up groups, which I mostly do. I am really excited for the lessons learned in flexible raiding to be expanded to the new Heroic (current Normal) difficulty. This has not always been the case, I have not really raided before Siege of Orgrimmar, Looking for Raid was my choice. During the earlier patches, believe it or not, I really liked dailies. Not all of them, but I did like experiencing a story that evolves over time. In that view, the Operation: Shieldwall dailies were really awesome in my experience.
6. Do you have an area in game that you always return to?
Not really, I usually go with the main capital of the current expansion. So now, that is the Shrine of the Seven Stars, in Cataclysm it was Stormwind and in Wrath of the Lich King it was Dalaran. Out of all the main capitals I liked Dalaran best. The music, the safe haven idea and the design all just really appealed to me.
7. How long have you /played and has that been continuous?
I have played a few different characters. Back in Wrath of the Lich King I played a mage, in Cataclysm I leveled a new mage and since Patch 5.4 the druid is my main class. For what it is worth: my first mage has been deleted, so I don’t really know the /played on him. My second mage has a /played of 58 days and my druid has a /played of 17 days. Next to my two mains, I have about 14 alts which I have played at some point as well, but I’m too lazy to look them all up.
